Baseball Recap: Giles Drops Highest Score of Season Against Bland County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Giles). They never let the Bland County Bears get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Spartans considering their one-run performance the contest before.

The team relied heavily on Josiah Schlueter, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Skyler Keffer, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Giles always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Giles' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6-1. As for Bland County, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-5.
