Baseball Recap: Shawnee Takes a Loss

Shawnee had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 4-4 to make it five. They fell just short of the Burlington Township Falcons by a score of 1-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Renegades were not able to get on the board.

As for Burlington Township, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since March 19th.

For Burlington Township's part, not much got past Sean Heffernan, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Shawnee off the board.

On the hitting side, Burlington Township's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chad Brewer, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Those two hits gave Brewer a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Shawnee will square off against Haddonfield at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Burlington Township, they will host Cinnaminson at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
