Basketball Recap: Houlton Comes Up Short

Houlton lost against Caribou back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Houlton Shiretowners were outmatched by the Caribou Vikings and fell 68-21. While losing is never fun, the Shiretowners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Vikings are ranked first).

Houlton's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Caribou, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Houlton has already played their next contest (against Mount Desert Island), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Caribou will challenge Old Town at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Caribou's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
