Basketball Recap: Riley Trumpower Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Mt. Gilead

There's no place like home for Lucas, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 56-49 win over the Mt. Gilead Indians on Tuesday. This was payback for the Cubs, who suffered a 61-33 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lucas got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Riley Trumpower out in front who almost dropped a double-double with nine boards and ten assists. Those ten assists gave Trumpower a new career-high. Emma Brown was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

The win got Lucas back to even at 1-1. As for Mt. Gilead, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coincidentally, Lucas and Mt. Gilead will both be playing Danville the next time they take the court. The Cubs will head out to face the Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, while the Indians will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
