 Beecher waltzed into their matchup  on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  4-2  victory over the Hanover Central Wildcats. This was payback for Beecher, who suffered  a  3-1  defeat the last time these two teams met.
  Ava Lorenzatti made a splash no matter where she played. She  struck out 14 batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off   seven  hits. Lorenzatti has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts in 13 consecutive pitching appearances. Lorenzatti was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run and three  RBI.
 Lorenzatti wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Alexa Gliva, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-2.
 On Hanover Central's side,  Gabi Comia made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4.  Sienna Stilley was another key contributor,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Beecher pushed their record up to 20-1 with that  win, which was their third straight  at home. As for Hanover Central, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
