Basketball Game Preview: Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes vs. Fort Dorchester Patriots

The Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes will challenge the Fort Dorchester Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Ashley Ridge's favor as the squad sits on 13 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Fort Dorchester has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Last Friday, Ashley Ridge didn't have too much trouble with Beaufort as they won 64-47. Given the Swamp Foxes' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Eagles are ranked 93rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Skyla Tuthill was her usual excellent self, putting up 18 points and seven rebounds. Her evening made it 15 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of LaChar Lawrence, who posted six points.

Ashley Ridge was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beaufort only posted five assists.

Meanwhile, Fort Dorchester ended up a good deal behind Berkeley on Tuesday and lost 56-39.

Ashley Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Fort Dorchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Ashley Ridge beat Fort Dorchester 54-47 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will Ashley Ridge repeat their success, or does Fort Dorchester have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
