Football Recap: Guyer Beats Rock Hill for Their Eighth Straight Win + How To Watch

Guyer had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Rock Hill Blue Hawks 40-0. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Kaedyn Cobbs and Aiden Martens. Cobbs rushed for 110 yards and three TDs while Martens rushed for 114 yards and one score on only eight carries. That's the most rushing yards Martens has posted since back in September.

Guyer's run defense was locked in: Rock Hill could only muster 1.8 yards per carry. The team can thank Landon De La Garza for the heroic effort on defense: he. Guyer didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.9.

Guyer didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Paxton Wiliams, Zane Rowe, and Martens picked up one apiece. Wiliams got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win (which was Guyer's eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.3 points over those games. As for Rock Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Guyer has already played their next contest, a 44-14 win against Dallas Jesuit on the 21st. Rock Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
