Basketball Recap: Broadalbin-Perth Takes a Loss

After flying high against Schalmont last Sunday, Broadalbin-Perth came back down to earth. The Broadalbin-Perth Patriots took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hoosic Valley Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Hawks are ranked 109th).

Broadalbin-Perth has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Hoosic Valley, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broadalbin-Perth will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gloversville at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Hoosic Valley and Rensselaer will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
