            Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Barron Collier walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bonita Springs Bullsharks  a   3-0 shutout  on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Bullsharks  back in February, they had to take a  6-5  defeat.

 Alan Overmyer made a splash no matter where he played. He  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out six over 6.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances with one  double and one  RBI.
 Overmyer wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Jonathan Hernandez Carr, who  went 1-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
The  win was  the fourth in a row for Barron Collier, bringing their record up to 20-6. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bonita Springs, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-11 record  this season.
