Soccer Game Preview: Santiago vs. Pacifica

The Santiago Cavaliers and the Pacifica Mariners will round out the year against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Friday, Santiago didn't have quite enough to beat Century and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, Santiago can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 730th, while Century are ranked 351st).

Meanwhile, Pacifica fell victim to St. John Bosco and their airtight defense on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves.

Pacifica has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 0-12-4 record this season. As for Santiago, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-4.
