Baseball Recap: Troy Snags 11th Victory in Last 14 Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Troy had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They skirted past the Potlatch Loggers 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted against the Loggers since April 23, 2024.

Dominic Holden was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out 17 batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Troy has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Potlatch, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-3.

Troy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-6 defeat against Kendrick on the 16th. Hopefully Potlatch paid attention to the Trojans' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Trojans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
