Baseball Recap: Marcellus Takes a Loss

Marcellus was the 8-3 winner over Onondaga when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Marcellus saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Mattison, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Max Chapman also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Marcellus now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Onondaga, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Marcellus will be playing at home against Christian Brothers Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Onondaga, they will square off against Bishop Grimes at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
