Baseball Game Preview: Thompson Warriors vs. Homewood Patriots

The Thompson Warriors will face off against the Homewood Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Thompson is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Oxford, who was ranked 12th at the time (Thompson was ranked 20th). Thompson came out on top against Oxford by a score of 6-1 on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Yellow Jackets: they've now won six in a row.

Meanwhile, Homewood narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Tuscaloosa Academy 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Thompson's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Homewood, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.

Thompson was able to grind out a solid victory over Homewood in their previous matchup back in February of 2021, winning 11-6. Will Thompson repeat their success, or does Homewood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
