Football Game Preview: North Surry Greyhounds vs. West Stokes Wildcats + How To Watch

The North Surry Greyhounds will challenge the West Stokes Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

North Surry got their first taste of in-conference action on Friday and they started things off strong. They really took it to Surry Central for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-15 win. The Greyhounds haven't had any issues with the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Zamarri Sweatman was his usual excellent self, rushing for 294 yards and three scores while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 120.4 rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of David Schuyler, who rushed for 66 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Surry was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 402 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, West Stokes played in-conference for the first time on Friday and got just the result they were looking for. They took down East Surry 47-28.

West Stokes' win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for North Surry, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

North Surry came up short against West Stokes when the teams last played back in September of 2024, falling 24-13. Can the Greyhounds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
