Basketball Recap: Pine River Area Comes Up Short

Pine River Area lost against McBain back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pine River Area Bucks took a 58-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McBain Ramblers.

When it comes to explaining why Pine River Area lost, don't look at Mason Gugle. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-11 to rack up 17 points and four steals. What's more, Gugle also posted a 73% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Stone Walker, who posted nine points and eight boards.

Pine River Area's loss dropped their record down to 17-4. As for McBain, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-2.

Looking ahead, Pine River Area will venture away from home to face off against Beal City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for McBain, they will host St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. McBain is facing St. Francis at the right time seeing as St. Francis is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
