Basketball Recap: Pearce's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Pearce has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Highlands Wildcats on Tuesday. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Pearce's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-8. As for Lake Highlands, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-6.

Pearce and Lake Highlands should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Pearce (ranked 98th) will meet Irving (ranked 776th) at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st. Similarly, Lake Highlands will square off against MacArthur at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 738 places (44 vs. 782).
