Football Game Preview: East Bladen Eagles vs. Hobbton Wildcats

Two dominant backs in Jaden Lewis and Amir Tate are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The East Bladen Eagles will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Hobbton Wildcats at 6:30 p.m.

East Bladen is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against North Duplin on Friday. The Eagles and the Rebels were almost perfectly matched up, but the Eagles suffered a 15-14 loss.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hobbton). They blew past Union 46-12 on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

East Bladen better keep an eye on Anthony Cowell. He was instrumental in Hobbton's win, rushing for 86 yards and three scores on only seven carries. Reginald Thompson was another key player, gaining 67 total yards and a touchdown.

Hobbton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 388 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 179 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

The victory got Hobbton back to even at 3-3. As for East Bladen, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
