Softball Recap: Kolbe-Cathedral Comes Up Short

Kolbe-Cathedral made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Stratford, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cougars fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 12-10 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cougars have suffered since May 5, 2025.

Samantha Galarza was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Mi'Yah Bostic, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Kolbe-Cathedral dropped their record down to 5-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Stratford, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Coming up, Kolbe-Cathedral will challenge Bullard-Havens at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 23.27 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Stratford, they will take on Masuk at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Red Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
