It was a proper cat-fight when Gregory-Portland took on Martin on Friday. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Tigers. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on three straight.

Dominic Guerra was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Triston Gore, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Gregory-Portland's win bumped their record up to 19-9-1. As for Martin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gregory-Portland will face off against King at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Mustangs have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Martin, they will square off against Palmview at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lobos have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
