Softball Game Preview: Boca Raton Bobcats vs. Cardinal Newman Crusaders

The Boca Raton Bobcats will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Cardinal Newman Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Boca Raton will be strutting in after a win while Cardinal Newman will be coming in after a loss.

Boca Raton is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Somerset Academy - Canyons. Everything went Boca Raton's way against Somerset Academy - Canyons on Tuesday as Boca Raton made off with a 13-5 victory.

Emily Falkowitz was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Falkowitz was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kate Ivanik, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Raegan Lisco was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Newman suffered their closest defeat since March 1, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Palm Beach Central by a score of 5-3.

Madelyn Horner was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Khanna, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
