Baseball Game Preview: Troy-Buchanan Trojans vs. Howell Vikings

Troy-Buchanan is 1-9 against Howell since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Vikings at 4:15 p.m. Troy-Buchanan will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Saturday, Troy-Buchanan narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Lee's Summit 5-4.

Chase Niehoff looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Troy-Buchanan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Eulinger, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Howell has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.33 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They came up short against Fort Zumwalt West, falling 14-4. Vikings fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Jaguars since on Wednesday.

Having lost for the first time this season, Howell fell to 8-1. As for Troy-Buchanan, their record now sits at 8-5.
