Baseball Game Preview: Laguna Creek Cardinals vs. Sheldon Huskies

For the second straight game, Laguna Creek will face off against Sheldon. The Cardinals will venture away from home to square off against the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Laguna Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Laguna Creek took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Sheldon a 10-0 shutout. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

David Romero looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Laguna Creek got a big performance out of Tyger Peterson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave Peterson a new career-high. Sam Stires was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
