Volleyball Recap: Center Grove's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Center Grove had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Southport Cardinals with a sharp 3-0 victory on Saturday. The win was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won three matches in a row.

Despite the defeat, Southport saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lily Boone had ten digs and one assist. Boone is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 18 games she's played.

Center Grove's victory bumped their record up to 25-9. As for Southport, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-14 record this season.

Center Grove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Franklin Central on the 18th. Southport does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
