Bret Harte is 1-9 against Argonaut since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bullfrogs will face off against the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Bret Harte is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Bear River 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bullfrogs have posted since March 25th.

Madison Kane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaliana Erdman, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mariah Colwell, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Argonaut entered their tilt with Amador last Wednesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Buffaloes.
Argonaut also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Hailey Dewald gave up just two earned runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, Bailey Baker was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
Bret Harte has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Argonaut, they pushed their record up to 21-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Bret Harte couldn't quite get it done against Argonaut in their previous matchup back in February as they fell 6-3. Can the Bullfrogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
