Basketball Recap: Rittman Indians vs. Norwayne Bobcats
Rittman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 92-16 defeat at the hands of the Norwayne Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 761st, while the Bobcats are ranked 87th).
Norwayne was led to victory by Tyson Hess and Braden West. Hess went 8 of 9 en route to 17 points in addition to five assists and five boards, while West went 9 for 12 on his way to 23 points. That's the most assists Hess has posted since back in February of 2024. Jaxson Gasser also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.
Rittman's record is now 2-12. As for Norwayne, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Rittman has already played their next contest (against Waynedale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Norwayne will host Hillsdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Norwayne is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.1 points per game this season.
