Soccer Game Preview: Center vs. Clinton

The Center Yellowjackets will head out to face off against the Clinton Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Center has given up an average of 3.4 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Center fell victim to Harrisonville and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 8-0. Center haven't had much luck with Harrisonville recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Clinton entered their tilt with Oak Grove on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Clinton might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by three goals or more this season.

Center's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Clinton, their victory bumped their record up to 16-6.

Center beat Clinton 3-1 in their previous matchup back in October of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
