Baseball Recap: Central of Clay County Comes Up Short

Central of Clay County lost against Munford back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Central of Clay County Volunteers fell just short of the Munford Lions by a score of 3-2. The contest marked the Volunteers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Central of Clay County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JT Wilkerson, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Central of Clay County dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Munford, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Central of Clay County will square off against Moody at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Munford, they will head out on the road to challenge Vincent at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
