Softball Recap: Crockett Comes Up Short

If Crockett was riding high fresh off their 18-1 takedown of Cedar Creek last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crockett Cougars lost 11-4 to the United Longhorns on Thursday. The loss was the Cougars' first of the season.

Crockett got a big performance out of Sadie Peyton, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Kaitlyn Vasquez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1.

Having lost for the first time this season, Crockett fell to 1-1-1. As for United, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-7-1 record this season.

Crockett will take on Pharr-San Juan-Alamo in a tournament on Thursday. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Crockett surely won't give up without a fight. As for United, they will be taking part in a tournament against Cornerstone Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
