Volleyball Recap: Rockmart Takes a Loss

Rockmart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Haralson County Rebels. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Rockmart started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-10, 15-9.

Amazia Christopher paced Rockmart's offense, picking up eight kills. Christopher got some help from Kimberlyn Pavon and her eight assists.

Rockmart's defeat dropped their record down to 10-26. As for Haralson County, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rockmart will welcome Unity Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Haralson County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Whitefield Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
