Baseball Game Preview: Leo Lions vs. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights

The Leo Lions will challenge the Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Leo has three straight wins, Fort Wayne Bishop Luers has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Saturday, Leo got the win against Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian by a conclusive 16-3. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers had taken Fort Wayne Snider down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Knights lost 9-3 to the Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Knights have suffered against the Panthers since April 26, 2022.

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxson Hill, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Leo pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
