Monache won the last time they faced Mt. Whitney and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Marauders blew past the Pioneers 8-1. The Marauders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.
Sophia Martinez looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aalyha Mendoza, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Devynn Emerson, who went 3-for-5 with one triple and one RBI.
Monache pushed their record up to 13-5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mt. Whitney, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15-2 record this season.
