The Maconaquah Braves will head out on the road to square off against the Peru Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Peru took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Maconaquah, who comes in off a win.
Peru will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Maconaquah extended their winning streak to three on Monday. The Braves blew past Southwood 10-1. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by seven runs or more this season.

Bennett Isenburg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other pitching news, Cohen Helmuth looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Caiden Richards was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jordan Ellis also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Maconaquah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Peru lost 8-1 to Rochester on Monday.
Maconaquah pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Peru, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Maconaquah has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Peru struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Maconaquah might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Peru when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Braves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
