Basketball Game Preview: Fourth Baptist Christian Warriors vs. Prior Lake Christian Royals

The Fourth Baptist Christian Warriors will be taking part in a tournament against the Prior Lake Christian Royals at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.

Fourth Baptist Christian is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against St. Francis Christian on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Fourth Baptist Christian had to suffer through a 66-32 loss at the hands of St. Francis Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Warriors have suffered against the Patriots since November 27, 2018.

Meanwhile, Prior Lake Christian had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 65-47 victory over the Crusaders. While the Royals didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-3), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Fourth Baptist Christian better focus on containing Micah Lindsey and Elijah Wilson as the pair were huge in Prior Lake Christian's win. Lindsey dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Wilson dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 boards. The contest was Wilson's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Morgan, who posted 11 points along with six boards and three blocks.

Prior Lake Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Prior Lake Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Fourth Baptist Christian, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Fourth Baptist Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Prior Lake Christian in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 55-50 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fourth Baptist Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
