While Edisto's win against Hampton County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Edisto Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Hampton County Hurricanes on Friday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Max Dempsey was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Billy Hardy also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Edisto now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Hampton County, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Edisto is taking a road trip to take on Whale Branch at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edisto is facing Whale Branch at the right time seeing as Whale Branch is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hampton County, they will challenge Colleton County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Colleton County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.67 runs per game on average), something Hampton County will no doubt try to take advantage of.
