Basketball Game Preview: KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Warriors vs. Therrell Panthers

The KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Warriors will take on the Therrell Panthers at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in KIPP Atlanta Collegiate's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matches.

Last Thursday, KIPP Atlanta Collegiate was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 67-63 to Lovett.

Meanwhile, Therrell played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 80-48 loss at the hands of Holy Innocents Episcopal. The Panthers have struggled against the Golden Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

KIPP Atlanta Collegiate will have to keep a close watch on Gordon Davis and Morion Mcwhorter, a pair of players who had a big impact on Therrell's prior game. Davis went 5-for-10 on his way to 16 points, while Mcwhorter went 7-for-12 to rack up 14 points. Davis' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Quinterion Thurman also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Therrell's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, their loss dropped their record down to 19-6.

KIPP Atlanta Collegiate strolled past Therrell when the teams last played back in January by a score of 66-51. Will KIPP Atlanta Collegiate repeat their success, or does Therrell have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
