With a playoff win on the line, Bishop Montgomery rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Xavier Prep Saints with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Bishop Montgomery took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-10, 25-12.

When it comes to explaining why Xavier Prep lost, don't look at Arianna Padilla. Despite the final result, she had 14 digs. Padilla is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 14 games she's played.

Bishop Montgomery's victory bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Xavier Prep, their loss ended a six-match streak of away wins and brought them to 30-6.

Looking ahead, Bishop Montgomery will square off against Murrieta Mesa at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Xavier Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
