Softball Recap: Mart Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Tuesday. Mart fell just short of Abbott by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Abbott this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 back in February.

Harley Desmuke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on ten hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Mart saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Destinee Guerrero, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Marley Maas was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Mart's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Abbott, they moved to 8-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

While Mart had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
