Soccer Recap: Holmes Comes Up Short

Holmes and Southwest Onslow squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Holmes had to settle for second. They lost 5-1 to the Stallions. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, Holmes couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Emma Parrish, who's now up to 46 this season.

With the loss, Holmes broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-10-1. As for Southwest Onslow, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3-3 record this season.

Holmes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southwest Onslow, they will square off against Roanoke Rapids at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Roanoke Rapids will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Southwest Onslow surely won't give up without a fight.
