Basketball Game Preview: East Poinsett County Warriors vs. Piggott Mohawks

The East Poinsett County Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Piggott Mohawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Poinsett County will be strutting in after a victory while Piggott will be coming in after a loss.

Last Wednesday, East Poinsett County made easy work of Corning and carried off an 80-55 win. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Bobcats are ranked 189th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Piggott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Marmaduke an easy 64-44 victory.

Piggott's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for East Poinsett County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

East Poinsett County didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Piggott in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 78-72 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Poinsett County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
