Volleyball Recap: Elyria Christian Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last three times Elyria Christian and Canton-Galva had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Elyria Christian fell 2-0 to Canton-Galva on Saturday. Elyria Christian has struggled against Canton-Galva recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

While Elyria Christian ultimately came up short, they really made Canton-Galva work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 27-25.

Joy Pyle paced Elyria Christian's offense, picking up four kills. Pyle got some help from Laney Reiff and her six assists. Reiff was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Elyria Christian's loss dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Canton-Galva, they pushed their record up to 17-12 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Elyria Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Herington on the 11th. As for Canton-Galva, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Goessel on the 11th.
