Northside Christian has gone 9-1 against Shorecrest Prep recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chargers at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Northside Christian comes in on six and Shorecrest Prep on four.
On Monday, it was close, but Northside Christian sidestepped Paul Laurence Dunbar for a 5-3 victory.

Merric Hunt tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Northside Christian saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Jones, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Another was JD Howard, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Shorecrest Prep earned a 13-8 win over Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate on Friday.
The team relied heavily on Wesley Ryan, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Booth, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.
Northside Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Shorecrest Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Northside Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Shorecrest Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Northside Christian couldn't quite finish off Shorecrest Prep in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
