El Segundo had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the North Saxons. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

El Segundo had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-23, 15-8.

El Segundo pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for North, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-5.

El Segundo and North should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. El Segundo (ranked seventh) will meet Bishop Montgomery (ranked 254th) at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, North will challenge Hawthorne at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday up 555 places (93 vs. 648).
