Football Game Preview: Highlands Ranch Falcons vs. Grand Junction Tigers + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Daniel Schnittker and Matthais Martinez-Santana are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Highlands Ranch Falcons will challenge the Grand Junction Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Highlands Ranch has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with five straight defeats, while Grand Junction will come in with five straight wins.

Things were looking good for Highlands Ranch after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Golden. The Falcons were up 14-0 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite their loss, Highlands Ranch saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Rylan Hume, who threw for 246 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes, was perhaps the best of all. 120 of Hume's passing yards were hauled in by George West.

Sand Creek typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Grand Junction proved too difficult a challenge. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 56-13 victory over the Scorpions. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 27 points or more this season.

Highlands Ranch better keep an eye on Marcus Martinez. He was instrumental in Grand Junction's win, rushing for 153 yards and three scores on only eight carries. Those 153 rushing yards gave Martinez a new career-high. Elias Morgan was another key player, rushing for 93 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

Grand Junction was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 359 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Highlands Ranch's record is now 4-6. As for Grand Junction, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
