Baseball Recap: Shawnee Braves vs. Indian Lake Lakers

After flying high against Northwestern last Monday, Shawnee came back down to earth. The Braves lost 9-3 to the Indian Lake Lakers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 last Monday.

Shawnee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Finnell, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Finnell also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Kaiden Roeder was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Shawnee has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Indian Lake, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shawnee will head out to challenge Northwestern at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Braves are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Indian Lake, they will head out on the road to take on London at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
