Basketball Game Preview: Lakeland Vikings vs. Archie Whirlwinds

Lakeland is 8-2 against Archie since January of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Lakeland Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the Archie Whirlwinds at 7:00 p.m. Archie took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lakeland, who comes in off a win.

Lakeland took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 57-45 victory over Northeast Vernon County.

Meanwhile, Archie suffered their closest loss since December 5, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Appleton City by a score of 55-53.

The win got Lakeland back to even at 10-10. As for Archie, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Lakeland lost to Archie on the road by a decisive 59-40 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Lakeland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
