Basketball Game Preview: Union Star Trojans vs. Cainsville Redmen

The Union Star Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Cainsville Redmen at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Union Star lost 59-33 to Winston on Friday. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Red Birds recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Meanwhile, Cainsville ended up a good deal behind North Nodaway on Friday and lost 59-42.

Union Star's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Cainsville, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.

Union Star didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Cainsville when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 39-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Union Star since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
