Volleyball Game Preview: Walnut Hills Eagles vs. Turpin Spartans

The Walnut Hills Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Turpin Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Turpin took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Walnut Hills, who comes in off a win.

While Walnut Hills' win against Loveland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Tigers 3-2 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Walnut Hills was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (105-103), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 26-24, 18-25, 25-22, 19-25, 15-9.

Meanwhile, Turpin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Milford, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-14, 25-16.

Turpin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Walnut Hills, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Walnut Hills took their win against Turpin in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
