Softball Recap: Bozeman Wins Going Away Against Freeport

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Bozeman walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Freeport Bulldogs on Tuesday as they made off with a 6-0 victory. The Bucks haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Avery Obert, who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep Freeport off the board. Obert has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bozeman got a big performance out of Presley Thomason, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Thomason has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Hayden Morris, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Bozeman's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Freeport, they moved to 12-10 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Bozeman didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-2 defeat against North Bay Haven Academy on the 1st. As for Freeport, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-0 loss against Baldwin on the 7th.
