Football Recap: Kossuth Piles Up the Points Against Holly Springs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Kossuth had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They blew past the Holly Springs Hawks 49-8. The contest marked the Aggies' most dominant victory of the season.

Kossuth's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trey Arthur, who rushed for 64 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards Arthur has posted since back in September.

Arthur was just one part of a punishing run game: Kossuth was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 234 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Kossuth pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.0 points over those games. As for Holly Springs, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Kossuth didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-7 defeat against Choctaw County on the 14th. Holly Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
