Soccer Recap: Roger Bacon Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Covington Catholic, Roger Bacon was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand DePaul Cristo Rey a 4-0 shutout. The score was close at halftime, but Roger Bacon pulled away in the second half with three goals.

They hit DePaul Cristo Rey with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alec Finlay, Eli Richard, Jean-Marie Kipkosgei, and Oliver Koch.

Roger Bacon has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four contests. As for DePaul Cristo Rey, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Roger Bacon will head out to square off against Mt. Healthy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Roger Bacon will be up against Mt. Healthy's rather soft defense (which has allowed 7.62 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for DePaul Cristo Rey, they will head out on the road to take on Hughes at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
